Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the US as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is the host of SportsNation as well as a SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN in the year of 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since she was nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first position in the production department with Univision in Miami that provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was recruited to the CBS station as an sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. In 2009, she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas in which she was a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Also, she was often asked to serve as an anchor for sports and weather. Later, she was anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given greater responsibilities. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Besides this, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor. She was the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. The anchor also worked in the same position for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents are originally of Veracruz Mexico. Then, they moved to Mexico City and she was born there on the 22nd of November, 1985. She's more mature than her younger sister. The family moved into Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. Her parents divorced within a short time and in the year 1995, she got married to a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. It was on a holiday in the summer that she lived with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl was offered an employment. Antonietta was the senior of her high school and had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she sought. After completing her high school education she enrolled in the university to study media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was part of her class, formed a lasting relationship with her. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to be confident and was deeply moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
